A Letter from our CEO & How You Can Support #LifesWORCTogether

Apr 14, 2020

Dear Friends:

Over the past several weeks, together we have faced an unprecedented health crisis with an overwhelming impact. Life’s WORC mission has always been to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and now that need has become more urgent than ever.

At a time when government officials and medical experts are promoting social distancing and staying at home to “flatten the curve,” we are reminded again that in times of crisis, heroes run toward the battle, not away from it. And our Direct Support Professionals are our Everyday Heroes.

They cannot social distance from the people we support in our homes. Instead, it is their responsibility to be up close and supportive of every person’s physical and emotional needs. DSP’s are risking the health of themselves and their families while caring for others. It’s who they are. It’s what they do.

From the early days of this crisis, we approached the challenges together. We will come out of this together. We are #LifesWORCTogether.

As we move forward into the days ahead, we ask you to join us. We need your help. And there are many ways you can do that. We recognize that these are not typical times, and the request being made is not typical either. Please, give what you can.

Donations support the purchase of emergency medical supplies and will help to create funds to bonus front line staff: Donate Today!

There will be a time when we can safely be together again. I hope that time is sooner rather than later.  But I know that will come. Until then, please be safe and well. And remember, we are #LifesWORCTogether.
