Celebrating Victoria Schneps and the Willowbrook Legacy

Life’s WORC is proud to share a special video honoring our founder, Victoria Schneps, whose passion and courage helped spark a movement that transformed lives. What began as her personal mission has grown into a lasting legacy that continues to guide our work today.

This tribute also marks the 50th anniversary of the Willowbrook Consent Decree, a historic turning point that secured dignity, justice, and human rights for people with developmental disabilities. Victoria’s advocacy and leadership were instrumental in this fight, helping to ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, could live with opportunity, respect, and community inclusion.

As we reflect on this important legacy, Life’s WORC remains committed to carrying forward our mission: to provide high-quality, person-centered services that create independent, meaningful, and productive life experiences for the people we support.
