Day Habilitation
Life’s WORC Day Habilitation (Day Hab) programs are both site-based and community-based (Program Without Walls) depending on each individual’s goals, support needs, and desires.
Stepping Into Adulthood
For teens between the ages of 14 and 21 with Medicaid eligibility, Life’s WORC offers a person-centered program developed to provide opportunities to learn skills such as friendship-building, communication, cooking, and other early adulthood goals. Scheduled to follow the school calendar, Stepping into Adulthood runs after school as well as Saturdays. It is offered exclusively at our Day Habilitation center located in Glendale, Queens.
LifeLinks Day Habilitation
Our LifeLinks Day Habilitation program offers participants enriching activities that will build on life skills such as laundry, cooking, transportation management, money management, and personal care all through the lens of building friendships and other forms of relationships through communication and socialization. The LifeLinks program offers pre-vocational and community service opportunities that have a valuable impact on community members such as seniors, veterans, and children. This program is offered in locations throughout Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.
“The Store” Featuring Life’s WORC Merchandise
“The Store” is an exciting new business opened by our Day Habilitation Program participants. By working in The Store they learn about customer service, stocking, inventory, money skills, operating a cash register, purchasing and maintenance of the space. All skills to prepare them for future employment.
In addition to snacks, fruit and treats, The Store will be selling merchandise made by the Life’s WORC Cricut Crew (LWCC). The LWCC gets together to design, cut and imprint Life’s WORC logos and other personalization onto hoodies, sweatshirts, water bottles and joggers. Be sure to order yours today!
