The People of Life’s WORC – DJ AC

Jan 8, 2021

Those lucky enough to reside or work in our Claremont house have the musical pleasure of knowing the many talents of DJ AC, known to some as Andrew, our resident disc jockey.

DJ AC first developed an interest in the music industry more than 15 years ago, participating in local and school events and performing rap with a friend. From there he began to follow the careers of famous rappers and DJs, from DJ Funk Flex and DJ Kid Capri to Rapper Master P and his DJ production team. While he enjoys all genres of music, the work of these professionals inspired him to become a disc jockey himself.

A chance meeting with film director Spike Lee at a block party many years ago provided Andrew with the encouragement to pursue this passion. “Keep it up and do your best,” he recalls Lee telling him. And that is just what he has done since!

By carefully watching others perform, DJ AC began his career as a self-taught disc jockey, practicing the methods and techniques he saw and last year perfecting them when he received his first turntable.

Now the life and energy of any party he performs at, DJ AC aspires to go even further. His dream is to become a successful music producer, start rapping again and collaborate with others who can rap along to his music.

“Keep playing music and like what you do,” DJ AC says to others interested in music. “Make sure you have experience, have respect and stay out of trouble.”

We can’t wait to see where the future takes DJ AC!

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Life’s WORC, we will be sharing the stories, people and events that have made Life’s WORC the organization it is today, along with our goals and vision for the future. Thank you for celebrating with us!
